How it works

The steps, in order

SpecDrive sits beside the AI coding tool you already use — Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini, Codex. The AI still does the work; it simply can no longer call anything done without proving it.

The rules live inside the tools rather than in the prompt, so nothing gets forgotten as the conversation fills up. You talk, and the board fills itself: what you want, the usage scenarios, the screen sketches, the plan, the risks.

The build then runs step by step, in dependency order, and each step is checked before it turns green. A long unattended run can be stopped at any moment without losing anything: the board holds the progress, and a fresh session picks it up. One last read-through, by a fresh pair of eyes, before anything is called shipped. Free, open source, and everything stays on your Mac.
